Yes, Rhombic Networks’ web servers use Apache’s mod_deflate to compress web content. We compress all content except files matching the extensions:
- Images (*.gif, *.jpeg, *.jpg, *.png)
- Adobe Acrobat PDFs (*.pdf)
- Compressed Media (*.mp3, *.avi, *.wmv, *.mov, *.qt, *.ogg)
- Scripts (*.htc)
- Other binary files (*.exe, *.gz, *.tgz, *.zip, *.bz2, *.sit, *.rar, *.rz)
