Authenticated SMTP downtime/error
STATUS: FIXED. This problem has been resolved, and you can now continue using Rhombic Networks’ SMTP servers.
If you connect to mail.rhombic.net/mail.nabladesign.com via SMTP to send your e-mail, you will get an error about PLAIN authentication not being supported, and authentication failing. Your e-mail will NOT get sent, and should be queued in your outbox.
This problem is being worked on and will be fixed as soon as possible.
Available workarounds:
- Use your ISP’s SMTP server. Configure your e-mail client to use your home network/ISP’s SMTP server.
- Webmail. Use Rhombic Networks’ Webmail to send your messages
- The Outbox folder. Create and use an Outbox folder as detailed in our knowledge base entry on sending e-mail.
